    This is an unnecessary feature. Please remove it, or at least make it possible to turn off.

    I like it a lot. And touches a pain I have for long time. Creating systems and rules brings consistency and cohesiveness; but breaking those rules brings accents, fun excitement ! I love it!!

    So stupid. Why would i use the primary color in my background as primary color in my ui. It loses all contrast. It's just straight up dumb. Green icons on a green wallpaper. Blue icons on a blue wallpaper. Cant believe these guys cant see it.

    • @darkwoodmovies
      @darkwoodmovies 19 днів тому

      It's not necessarily the background color, it just picks a one standout color to make it blend well with the rest of the image. Like the yellow flowers, which had a blue background. Also they dial the contrast up so it's never "blended" into the image. I'm sure it won't work perfectly with bad images, but the ones that use good coloring will be great. Also, these colors seem to play more of a neutral role - in most UIs, the use of actual color is very limited.

    I understood co-design as a higher-impact incremental approach to existing problems, where as datafication highlights all the new opportunities where change can be surfaced (without making any changes, for "design never ends" ) I would appreciate some tips on how to approach co-design in a way that's more transformative/innovative to the spaces we designers are applying Community Co -Design within. While working with subject matter experts in this capacity is great to solve the problems, they are still problems that have been artificially imposed via the society we live in - hence it would be awesome if there a sweet spot for minimally viable subject matter expertise intervention where design considerations lean more transformative than highly presently practical/relevant.

    Short version: pick a saturated colour from the wallpaper (test it on real wallpapers people use, not stock photos), round it to an ugly palette, make it less saturated, pick the complementary colour and apply them everywhere. The main problem is that everything is pastel, from the page background to the buttons. Sure it's a different shade, but it's still much harder to comprehend. If only the controls were coloured, this would have felt much, much better. But still not good. Material you is just wrong. It looks like a 4yo designed it for a 90yo to use.

    🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 01:17 🚻 *Design interfaces can affirm or deny a person's identity, impacting their sense of belonging. Binary gender options and limited pronoun choices in onboarding can be exclusionary, particularly for trans and non-binary individuals.* 02:53 📏 *Wearable tech default designs may exclude certain communities, such as those with smaller wrists or specific skin characteristics. Prioritizing inclusivity in design, like addressing skin sensor issues on darker skin, is crucial for equitable technology.* 03:48 🌐 *Systemic issues can arise from product design, as seen in voice assistants reinforcing gender stereotypes. Companies making strides in inclusivity, like allowing preferred names on payment cards, contribute to creating more just technological landscapes.* 05:12 🌍 *Inclusion and equity in technology require ongoing efforts. Companies, including Google, are actively working to combat bias in products, but there is still much work to be done to ensure equitable and valuable products for all users.* 05:39 🤝 *Building inclusive products is a journey that demands critical analysis, time, and investment. Resources, like those provided by Google's "Belonging at Google," can aid in starting the journey toward designing more inclusive technology.* Made with HARPA AI
